Metals USA, is currently looking for a Shipping Clerk for our Port City/Tulsa, OK location. The Shipping Clerk inspects incoming shipments to make sure that they include the appropriate items and that each item is undamaged, record and sign for shipments, unload trucks and/or organize the items that they unload.

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming items: Compares identifying information and counts, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Provides clerical support as directed by the plant manager.
• Maintains and files purchase orders.
• Provides support to Sales office personnel as well as assists in inventory control.
• Takes delivery of incoming facility supplies as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with sales department or buyer to rectify damages and shortages
• Directs items to departments.
• May operate fork-lift truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving area to storage or work area.
• Schedules appointments for incoming shipments with drivers and dispatchers.

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals)
• Measuring skills to read English & Metric systems and a tape measure, caliper, gauges, or micrometer
• Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
• Experience operating an overhead crane / forklift operator
• Must be proficient in the use of hand tools including grinder
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
• Computer Literacy; Microsoft Products, CAD Programming and ERP
• Must be organized with attention to detail
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
