Job Summary:

The Manager, Clinical Assessment oversees the operations of a multi-disciplinary team of research assistants and professionals focused on recruiting and assessing participants for psychiatric research studies. Responsibilities include direct supervision, training, and performance evaluation of team members across specialties. The Manager will coordinate team priorities, ensure recruitment goals are achieved, foster collaboration, and streamline participant flow through the assessment process.


Minimum Education:

Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or a related field.


Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

Clinical license preferred, if applicable.


Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in mental health clinical services, including supervisory experience with a multi-disciplinary team and knowledge of psychiatric symptoms and diagnosis.
  • Experience with productivity reporting and data management, including the use of graphs and charts.
  • Background in a psychiatric research environment, including administering mental health assessments and surveys.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the assessment team has the resources and support they need
  • Oversee recruitment activities and manage social media outreach
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics (e.g., number of individuals screened)
  • Ensure studies coordinated by the assessment team are adequately staffed and progressing toward goals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investigators and lab research assistants


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with study participants and team members, ensuring compliance and collecting clinical or demographic information.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct supervision, training, and performance evaluation for assessment team members, including interviewers, research coordinators, and other multi-disciplinary professionals.
  2. Develop and execute recruitment plans, coordinating logistics such as staffing, space, and external resources.
  3. Support staff in initial screening of prospective participants and conduct reliability ratings of diagnostic interviews.
  4. Participate in research meetings, contributing to data and diagnostic reviews.
  5. Set benchmarks for study visits, standardize procedures, and optimize study timelines.
  6. Deliver regular reports on participant throughput and study progress.
