A major manufacturing company is looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their team to specifically focus on growth plans for the facility.

This facility manufactures metal products for infrastructure utilization, and they are adding to their team to meet projected growth targets. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for new equipment installation, changes in production floor layout, process mapping, and overall continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

The Manufacturing Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance for manufacturing activities, including plant layout, process mapping, engineering calculations, and maintenance projects.
• Assist in improving productivity, efficiency, and quality in manufacturing, and participate in ongoing cost reduction programs.
• Conduct investigations into machines and equipment, preparing justifications for new equipment or alternative processes.
• Design and implement tooling or machines to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Proactively promote Lean projects and activities.
• Establish and maintain schedules for the completion of approved projects.
• Create process work instructions for various production machines.
• Develop and coordinate methods and devices for material handling to facilitate the processing of both finished products and raw materials.
• Maintain and provide quality assurance programs at the site to reduce scrap and rejects.
• Assist in further development of Total Productive Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Cost Reduction.
• Promote a culture of safety across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have the following skillset/qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment - ideally in a manufacturing or industrial engineering focused role
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Solidworks
• Continuous improvement / cost reduction experience.
• Experience working with industrial equipment.
• Strong problem solving capabilities and ability to work well within a team.
