Description:

Tulsa Boys Home (TBH) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. This role reports to the TBH Board of Directors and provides leadership and vision for the design and implementation of a program for at-risk boys and their families as prescribed by the mission of the Tulsa Boys' Home. The individual in this role will:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the operations of a Residential Treatment Program consistent with the mission of the Home, and consistent with a strategic vision and plan with support of and cooperation with the Board of Directors.
  • Accountable for the hiring, training, and supervision of all personnel.
  • Oversee, interpret and maintain up-to-date personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepare an annual budget and maintain a policy of fiscal responsibility.
  • Oversee development of a long-range fundraising plan that supports the mission and budget of the Home and provides leadership to ensure successful implementation.
  • Represent the Home to the greater Tulsa community, promoting good will, fundraising, and education of services and programs.
  • Transact all necessary business of Tulsa Boys' Home in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare an agenda and attend all Board and committee meetings of the Board of Directors.
  • Participate in community organizations such as the United Way, and other educational and civic organizations being aware of opportunities for collaboration.
  • Prepare a TBH annual report, an annual funding proposal for the United Way, and other reports and proposals to foundations and government entities.
  • Coordinate with the Women's Association and the Junior Women's Association, attending their business meetings, as time will allow.
  • Provide leadership, training, and consultation to the administrative staff.
  • Oversee the campus program and staff, providing a system of accountability, communication and consultation between and for all staff.
  • Maintain an awareness of the social services field, informing, encouraging and assisting the Board in developing and maintaining a long-range plan.
  • May supervise professional, paraprofessional or support staff, interns, and volunteers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field or Business Administration.
  • Five years' experience in administration/supervision/management preferably in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Skills and knowledge in financial management, fundraising, program planning, and human resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a representative of the Tulsa Boys' Home, including strong public speaking skills.
  • Awareness of sensitivity of the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the client population.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • More than 5 years' experience in administration/supervision/management in a residential care facility for at-risk youth.
  • Demonstrated success in raising over $1M in funds through a variety of sources annually.
