Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. The role is also eligible for team-based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits-eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training experiences for the Executive Director role, learn new skills about senior living, and demonstrate increasing proficiency with managerial responsibilities within the Brookdale organization. The Brookdale Bench Program prepares you to assume the Executive Director role, including areas of people management, operations, and clinical management.
  • Responsible for all operations, acting as contact for staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies, and the public.
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate community staff. Provide direct resident care as needed. Fill in at various positions to cover staffing shortages.
  • Maintain high resident satisfaction and retention through quality services. Lead staff and residents to solve problems and resolve issues, supported by district leaders. Administer annual resident satisfaction surveys.
  • Execute renewal programs with existing residents proactively.
  • In conjunction with regional operations, execute annual operating and capital budgets. Minimize negative variances and deficits. Meet and exceed occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Hire, train, discipline, and terminate employees according to company policies. Review hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations to ensure quality staffing.
  • Ensure buildings, grounds, and property meet company standards through preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses per company, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Foster staff creativity to deliver high-quality services. Participate as a member of Resident Counsel.
  • Develop and maintain a positive community image. Engage in social and civic activities. Represent the community and company to government agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Use approved sales and marketing strategies to maximize occupancy.
  • Assist in service plan reviews with resident care teams and families, ensuring dignity and compliance.
  • Oversee resident admission, healthcare management, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum of two to four years of leadership experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Requirements: Valid administrator license where required. Valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle for business use.

Management/Decision Making: Use analytical skills and organizational understanding to handle problems. Demonstrate leadership to oversee resident care, marketing, and operations, and carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of organization, industry, and functional disciplines. Experience in technical areas. Familiarity with Microsoft software preferred. Strong communication, prioritization, delegation, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Salary Range: $77,510 - $98,740 per year
