Base pay range

$118,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Civil Senior Engineer to join our Civil Team Leadership Group. This role primarily focuses on applying strong technical expertise to solve site development challenges for a diverse client base. Additionally, the engineer will play a vital role in advancing internal design processes, establishing QA/QC checklists, and developing robust production templates and modeling standards within Civil 3D.

Projects span local, regional, and national markets (licensed in all lower 48 states) and serve various sectors including Federal Government, Municipalities, Retail, Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial clients. This role offers the opportunity to lead large, multi-million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects as the Civil Lead, or to oversee several smaller projects while mentoring civil designers and technicians.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in multiple states is required.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (multi-state preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in civil site design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices for civil illustration and design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed project proposals and accurately estimate fees.

Key Skills

• Expertise in local codes, current design trends, and Federal Facility Criteria (Whole Building Design Guide).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for client interactions and team coordination.
• Ability to manage and develop project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
• Willingness to travel overnight by car and air, as needed.
• Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete technical civil engineering tasks for site development projects.
• Define project scopes, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare design proposals and narratives.
• Produce formal engineering reports, design calculations, and system modeling.
• Review geotechnical reports and site surveys, participate in client and city development meetings.
• Prepare site construction observation reports, document meetings, and respond to construction and bid RFIs.
• Collaborate closely with in-house and remote multi-discipline teams to ensure project coordination, timeliness, and budget adherence.
• Conduct site visits to document existing conditions.
