Information reported by the background check will not automatically disqualify you from employment.Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Laboratory is the industry leader for transportation information analysis, visualization, and user interface design. We provide cutting-edge analytics products and an integrated product suite of situational awareness tools for transportation practitioners.When you join our team, you will work with designers, developers, DBAs, analysts, data scientists, and testers to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web-based software applications. You will apply your knowledge, skill, and experience to create stable, secure, and reliable data analysis and visualization applications.Essential duties and responsibilities:Manually test web application user interfaces and application programming interfaces, find bugs, report them, and track resolution.Develop and create test plans based on functional requirements and user interface specifications.Implement automated web application tests using Cypress.Implement automation of REST APIs test cases using Postman, RestAssured, and Karate.Prepare and publish test results and reports using Jira and Confluence.Collaborate with a cross-functional team including software developers, database administrators, user interface designers, server administrators, and managers to resolve issues.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.Experience:1+ years experience with manually testing web applications.1+ years experience with automation using object-oriented programming (OOP) languages.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to write test plans providing complete requirements coverage.Knowledge of QA concepts including regression, sanity tests, load/stress tests, and potential software vulnerabilities.Knowledge of database concepts including SQL and Postgres.Ability to work with cross-functional teams and take full ownership of assigned tasks.Excellent written and spoken communication skills.Preferences:Familiarity with Agile development life-cycle concepts.Experience with automation testing frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG.Familiarity with version control software including Git.Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.Diversity Statement:The University of Maryland, College Park, an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action; all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.Women, minorities, LGBTQ+, veterans, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.Required Documents:ResumeCover LetterList of References#J-18808-Ljbffr
