Director, Human Resources Business Partners

Description:

We are seeking a Director, Human Resources Business Partners to lead and develop our team of HRBPs. This role is critical to delivering exceptional people support across the organization, driving operational excellence in HR initiatives, and helping navigate transformational growth, including acquisition integration.

The Director will serve as a key member of the HR leadership team, partnering closely with leaders across Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Corporate functions. This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on HR partnership, cross-functional project management, and people development.

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three HR Business Partners, ensuring alignment, consistency, and scalability of HR support across the company.
  • Set team priorities in alignment with business objectives, data-driven, and business-oriented HRBP function.
  • Champion employee engagement, culture, and talent development initiatives company-wide.

HR Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers on a full range of HR matters including talent planning, organizational design, employee relations, succession planning, and change management.
  • Bring strong business acumen to HR decision-making, aligning people strategies with operational and financial objectives.
  • Partner closely with HR Specialist teams (Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management, and Learning & Development) to deliver integrated, high-impact HR solutions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, performance, safety, and continuous improvement.

Mergers, Acquisitions, and Integration

  • Lead and coordinate project management efforts related to acquisitions and integrations, across all functional areas of the business
  • Partner closely with Corporate Development on timelines, supporting project management from due diligence through post-close integration.
  • Act as a connector across workstreams (e.g., HR, Finance, Operations, IT) to ensure alignment and execution against integration plans.
  • Ensure smooth employee experiences and minimal disruption to business operations during transitions.

Change Management & Organizational Development

  • Design and implement change management strategies to support growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Equip leaders with tools and support to effectively lead their teams through change.
  • Support ongoing organizational effectiveness initiatives, including process improvements, workforce planning, and leadership development.

Data-Driven HR Insights

  • Leverage HR metrics, employee feedback, and business data to identify trends, inform strategy, and deliver actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Measure and track the impact of HR programs and initiatives, adjusting as needed to drive results.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in an HR Business Partner leadership role preferred.
  • Experience leading HR support in a technical, skilled trades, engineering, or field service organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing HR teams preferred.
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated experience supporting M&A and integrations across functional areas highly desirable.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and change management.
  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to link people strategies to business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to HR decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
