Job Summary:

The Logistics Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of donations, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of donated good operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods for Goodwill Industries of Tulsa. This position develops logistics strategies and leads a team to support organizational goals while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Assures accurate records of all phases of collection operations.
  • Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage optimization, and distribution processes.
  • Oversee all salvage operations, including developing relationships with buyers and vendors.
  • Monitor trash contracts and associated costs.
  • Oversee transportation operations, including fleet management, routing, and delivery schedules, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of goods.
  • Arrange for the purchase, licensing, maintenance and upkeep of all fleet vehicles and trailers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, transportation vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Assure compliance with all D.O.T regulations.
  • Hire, lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational excellence and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and analyze logistics data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including retail and finance, to align logistics operations with organizational needs.
  • Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs to ensure a secure working environment for all logistics staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation management, and warehouse processes.
  • Experience with fleet management, route optimization, and inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop reports, and make strategic decisions to improve efficiency.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations related to transportation and warehouse safety.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily works in an office setting with frequent visits to warehouse and transportation sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
