Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking an Export Compliance Specialist to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma!


The Export Compliance Specialist will report to and receive direction from the Chief Administrative Officer and ensure employees of Allient Inc. and its subsidiaries (“Allient”) comply with U.S. export control laws, including but not limited to, the Arms Export Control Act (“AECA”), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). This individual will provide export compliance support to Allient employees, manage and maintain export licenses and authorizations, ensure all recordkeeping requirements are fulfilled, and enforce internal policies and processes. Responsibilities:

  • Provide general export compliance support to internal employees.
  • Assess and develop export compliance program to meet requirements under U.S. export law with respects to recordkeeping, including tracking of all export authorizations and associated documentation, shipments under export authorizations, export classification process and record of justifications.
  • Submit and obtain export authorizations as required (ITAR, EAR), including licenses and agreements.
  • Overall responsibility for applying for obtaining and managing U.S. Government export authorizations as required per U.S. Export regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC).
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in the area of import/export compliance including but not limited to, classification of products and technical data, jurisdiction determinations and restrictions as to disclosure and use, screening of sanctioned and denied individuals and entities and other trade compliance related items.
  • Facilitates and implements proactive export compliance solutions, software and audit and assessment activities.
  • Develop and provide export compliance training to key business functions.
  • Provide guidance to individuals that may be provided access to technical data or material that has a restrictive classification.
  • Management of export licenses and authorizations, including tracking and documenting use, maintaining records, and identifying amendment, replacement, and renewal needs.
  • Enforce and assist employees with internal Trade Compliance policies and processes.
  • Provide support as needed, with trade compliance improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Investigate and develop a corrective action plan and system to properly record information relevant to potential internal export violations and assigned corrective actions.
  • Track voluntary disclosure system to track submissions to the U.S. Government, current USG status, associated internal corrective actions and status, and all relevant information.
  • Continuous improvement of party screening, process guiding classification of products, end-use certification, critical country review, need for license or other governmental authorization or guidance and any other compliance review matters.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to functional departments in the development or modification of existing processes and work procedures to ensure proper trade compliant actions are considered at the appropriate time to promote compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Work cross-departmentally to foster collaboration, establish channels of communication and encourage a culture of compliance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in export compliance with a minimum of 3 years of experience in or supporting a manufacturing/engineering or customs brokerage organization.
  • Knowledge of U.S. export regulations required, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and regulations of other applicable partnering government agencies.
  • Experience with identifying and assigning export classifications.
  • Experience with submission of export license applications.
  • Experience using SharePoint, MS 365, SNAP-R, ACE/AES Direct, DECCS, and Visual Compliance is desired.


Work Environment:

  • On-site full time required.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
