THE OPPORTUNITY

Sany Construction Equipment Dealer is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for an equipment dealership located in the Tulsa, OK area. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of construction equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and leadership skills to mentor junior technicians. This role requires in store service and travel to customer sites to perform on-site maintenance and repair work. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently, and excellent customer service abilities.

LIST KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Sany and other makes of Industrial & Construction Equipment
  • Perform advanced preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
  • Lead or assist in overhauls and major component replacements (e.g., engines, transmissions, final drives).
  • Provide guidance and technical support to entry-level and intermediate technicians; serve as a mentor in the shop or field.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers regarding repair needs, costs, and timelines.
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports, timecards, and warranty documentation.
  • Identify and recommend additional services, repairs, or parts (upselling) that would benefit the customer's equipment and operations.
  • Provide on-site customer support, fostering strong relationships to drive repeat business and loyalty.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; comply with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Participate in manufacturer training programs to maintain certifications and stay up to date with the latest service procedures.
  • Process paperwork after completion of each job
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in diagnosing and repairing construction or heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, and powertrains.
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Yanmar, SmartAssist, Caterpillar ET, John Deere Service Advisor, Komatsu Komtrax, or SANY software).
  • Valid driver's license; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying conditions (shop and field).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to train and lead less experienced technicians.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or trade certification preferred.
