About the Role

The Company is in search of a Managing Director of Development to spearhead the creation and execution of fundraising strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the site's private revenue efforts, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising plan. This role involves actively managing a diverse portfolio of individual donors, overseeing donor stewardship programs, and leading the team in meeting annual and multi-year revenue goals. The Managing Director will also be tasked with team and department management, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring that all fundraising activities align with the organization's mission and values.

Applicants for the Managing Director of Development position at the company should have a minimum of 3-5 years' of professional experience in a nonprofit development function, with a proven track record in fundraising and team management. The role requires strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and implement new ideas. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience with donor databases, and a commitment to community and national service. A background in City Year and AmeriCorps is highly valued. The Managing Director will work closely with the Executive Director, leadership team, and national development teams, and will be a key member of the organization's Senior Leadership Team.
