Overview: Join William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, as an Electrical Estimator with a focus on medium and high voltage electrical construction projects. In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to conduct due diligence and accurately estimate project costs related to electrical construction. You'll also oversee the client bid submittal process.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned projects.
  • Perform pre-construction surveys and complete preliminary documentation.
  • Execute most quantity surveys and pricing estimates.
  • Prepare vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets.
  • Conduct thorough plan reviews and obtain applicable wage rates.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proposal completeness.
  • Develop and finalize project schedules.
  • Review and analyze contract specifications, documents, and drawings for precise takeoffs.
  • Stay updated on industry-standard software and investigate new technologies to enhance the takeoff process.
  • Communicate with engineering consultants and designers to digitally coordinate information and complete takeoffs.
  • Assist with the creation of presentation materials and exhibits using basic CAD and drafting tools.
  • Participate in occasional site visits and pre-bid meetings.
  • Support special projects and other estimating duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; however, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is favored.
