Job Summary:

The Employee Resource Specialist is a mobile, field-based role responsible for connecting with employees across multiple locations to promote awareness of available support services, distribute wellness items (e.g., snacks), and foster a sense of belonging and appreciation. This role does not serve as an advocate or handle complaints, but rather acts as a connector and morale booster, ensuring employees feel seen, supported, and informed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site visits to engage with employees in a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Distribute wellness items (e.g., snacks, resource flyers) to promote a positive work environment.
  • Share information about available wraparound and safety net services, including internal programs and community resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and internal support teams.
  • Facilitates and assists with the employee mentor program.
  • Provides referrals for specialized career and life circumstance counseling and interpersonal guidance when indicated.
  • Observe and report general trends or opportunities to leadership.
  • Support company-wide wellness and appreciation initiatives, including events, campaigns, and recognition efforts.
  • Attends team meetings, in-service training, seminars, regular and ad hoc team meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect employee privacy at all times.
  • Track site visits and engagement activities for reporting and continuous improvement.
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in human services, communications, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, community outreach, or employee engagement.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to maintain Goodwill's Drug-Free Workplace and safety-sensitive standards.
  • Ability to work independently and travel between multiple sites.
  • Basic proficiency with email, mobile apps, and documentation tools.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal departments and external partners to support organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, empathy, and cultural humility.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify needs and connect individuals with appropriate support services.
  • Shares information clearly, respectfully, and in a manner that fosters understanding.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and rapport quickly.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
  • Upholds discretion and builds trust by handling sensitive information responsibly.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent travel between sites; mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs.) for transporting snacks and materials.
  • Flexible schedule may include early mornings or occasional weekends to align with site needs.
