Natural Gas Services Group, Inc. (NGSG) is seeking an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Assembler to join our fabrication team in Catoosa, Oklahoma. This role is responsible for assembling, wiring, and installing electrical and instrumentation components used in natural gas compression equipment, while following drawings, diagrams, and safety standards in a fast-paced shop environment.

Job Type: Full-time | Day Shift (10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday; 40-50 hours per week)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical and instrumentation components for equipment and control systems in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and wiring details to ensure accurate assembly and terminations.
  • Select and work with various wire gauges, cable types, and connectors based on specifications.
  • Route, bundle, crimp, label, and terminate wiring according to company standards and drawings.
  • Assist with installation of junction boxes, control panels, transmitters, sensors, and related instrumentation.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely for cutting, stripping, crimping, and mounting components.
  • Perform basic checks such as visual inspection and continuity tests to confirm proper assembly.
  • Maintain an organized work area, including tools, parts, and documentation, in alignment with company procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support production schedules and resolve issues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience working with electrical components in an industrial, manufacturing, or fabrication environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with electrical components and basic electrical principles.
    • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
    • Knowledge of various wire gauges and their appropriate usage.
    • Comfortable using standard hand tools and power tools for electrical assembly.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Reliable daily transportation to the Catoosa, Oklahoma facility (relocation assistance is not provided).

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role is performed in a fabrication shop and requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Standing, walking, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
  • Regularly lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Performing physical activities requiring use of arms, legs, and full-body movement (e.g., climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching).
  • Using manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to assemble, route, and terminate wiring and operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Having sufficient visual acuity to read diagrams, identify wire markings, measure components, and inspect assemblies for quality and accuracy.
  • Tolerating exposure to typical fabrication shop conditions, including varying temperatures, dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Wearing required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
