Job Title: Header Welder

Job Description: A Header Welder is responsible for the assembly, welding, and installation of various header components in the manufacturing or construction industry. The header, typically used in automotive or heavy equipment production, is a crucial part of the structural integrity of machines, vehicles, and other large-scale systems. The Header Welder ensures the proper fit and functionality of these components through precise welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding on various metal parts of headers, including complex assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand the design specifications of headers and related components.
  • Properly set up and calibrate welding equipment, such as TIG, MIG, or stick welders, to ensure safe and accurate welding.
  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections to ensure all welded parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is done in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that welds are clean, strong, and free of defects. Perform quality checks during and after the welding process.
  • Repair or modify header components as necessary, addressing any defects or issues that arise.
  • Work closely with engineers and other welders to ensure the integrity and functionality of the final product.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a welder, particularly in header welding or heavy machinery assembly.
  • Certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS or equivalent).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to weld with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and lifting during the workday.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding issues or defects during the process.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and welding processes.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • This role typically involves working in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • The welder may be exposed to high temperatures, fumes, and other workplace hazards. Proper safety equipment and personal protective gear are required.

Shifts Available: Day Shift (6am-6pm), Night Shift (6pm-6am)

Pay Range: $20-$30/hr
