📌 Core Responsibilities

• Welding Execution: Join heavy metal parts (beams, columns, girders, and frames) using processes like MIG (GMAW), Flux-Cored (FCAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding. 
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to plan assembly and layout dimensions. 
• Material Preparation: Cut, shape, grind, and clean metal surfaces using torches, saws, and grinders before and after welding. 
• Quality Inspection: Examine completed welds and joints to verify structural integrity, alignment, and adherence to safety codes and project specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and properly maintain welding gear, hand tools, and power equipment daily. 

🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of multiple welding techniques (especially FCAW and GMAW/MIG) in various positions, including vertical and overhead. 
• Blueprint & Math Literacy: Ability to interpret complex architectural/structural blueprints and measure accurately using tools like tape measures. 
• Certifications: Frequently requires passing specific position tests (such as 3G vertical uphill) or holding recognized credentials like an AWS Certified Welder designation. 
• Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for long shifts, work in awkward positions or at heights, and repetitively lift heavy materials (up to 50–75 lbs). 
• Safety Adherence: Strict compliance with OSHA guidelines and proper utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including helmets, respirators, and harnesses
